Era ’79 Red — Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio DOP
Grown among sands and lapilli of the Santo Spirito vineyard in Somma Vesuviana (around 200 m a.s.l.), Era ’79 Red interprets Vesuvius with a clear and gastronomic profile. The blend of Piedirosso (80%) and Aglianico (20%) is vinified in steel to preserve fragrance and mineral tension: in the glass it is bright ruby, on the nose it opens with geranium, crunchy cherry and black pepper, with hints of graphite that recall the volcanic soil. The sip is sleek yet juicy, the freshness guides the drink, the tannin is subtle and well-integrated; the finish is clean and savory, almost saline, inviting a second glass.
Recommended pairings
It’s a “territorial” red designed for the table: naturally accompanies Campanian cuisine — Neapolitan ragù and pasta with sauce, eggplant parmigiana, sausage and friarielli, roasted white meats and light grills. It also works great with pizza (marinara, margherita, diavola) and with medium-aged cheeses. For a “home” pairing Nero Vesuviano, try Piennòlo Tomato Sauce/Pulp in first courses and Friarielli in oil as an appetizer: the wine’s mineral vein enhances their character.
Why Nero Vesuviano
A straightforward and contemporary volcanic red: fresh sip, discreet tannin, and mineral character that makes it the natural companion of our pantry (Piennòlo, Friarielli) and the classics of Campanian cuisine.
